Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between the two Japanese giants Sony and Honda, has just unveiled the prototype of a new high-tech electric SUV.
The Afeela SUV was presented by the company this week during CES 2026 in Las Vegas (USA). Although it is still in the prototype stage, Sony Honda Mobility expects the vehicle to be available on the U.S. market by 2028.

Even though it is called an “SUV,” its shape does not differ much from the Afeela 1 sedan, whose deliveries are expected to begin by the end of this year. The exterior design relies heavily on minimalism, resulting in smooth surfaces with no creases or sharp angles in the bodywork.
As highlighted by the website Motor 1, don’t be surprised if the design looks familiar. That’s because it was heavily inspired by the Vision-S 02 concept presented by Sony at CES 2022.

Its specifications have not yet been revealed, but its dimensions are already known: 4,895 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 3,030 mm, it rides on 20-inch wheels, and weighs 2,480 kg.
Production is still expected to take a few years to begin, and for this reason Afeela has not released pricing information. For context, the Afeela sedan starts at US$ 89,900 for the base Origin model and goes up to US$ 102,900 for the high-end Signature trim.
